Who operates FoilBear

Data we collect
- Account and profile: email address, account identifier, display name, skill level, home spot, and profile preferences you choose to provide.
- Ride and location: precise GPS route, speed, distance, timestamps, selected spot, ride notes, battery notes, and the gear used for a session. Background location is used only while recording or completing an active ride.
- Motion and fitness: iPhone or Apple Watch motion samples, workout duration, heart rate, active energy, and related workout summaries when you grant permission.
- Gear and progression: boards, wings, batteries, charge history, favorites, achievements, skill progress, and session-to-session statistics.
- Device and diagnostics: app version, operating system, push token, upload state, error details, and sync diagnostics needed to keep ride files reliable.
- Product interactions: when you open an affiliate gear link, we may record the product, partner, app surface, time, referring page, user agent, and a one-way hash of the network address. If you are signed in, that interaction may be linked to your FoilBear profile.
How we use data
- Record, sync, restore, display, and analyze your rides.
- Show foil-specific weather, spot context, and safety information.
- Build your private Logbook, progression history, and useful ride summaries.
- Deliver Watch transfers, alerts you request, account support, and service diagnostics.
- Attribute eligible gear referrals and measure whether those links work.
- Protect accounts, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Apple Health
HealthKit access is optional. If granted, FoilBear may read heart rate and workout information during rides and may save a water-sports workout to Apple Health. Health and fitness data is used only to provide FoilBear ride and workout features. It is not sold, used for advertising, or used to build advertising profiles.
When data is shared
We do not sell personal data and we do not use FoilBear data for cross-app tracking. Data is shared only as needed with infrastructure providers that host authentication, databases, files, app delivery, and the website; with Apple for features you request; with an affiliate partner as needed to attribute a referral; or when required by law or to protect users and the service.
Retention, security, and deletion
We retain account data while your account is active and keep operational logs only as long as reasonably needed for reliability, security, and legal obligations. We use encrypted connections and access controls, but no online service can promise absolute security.
You can permanently delete your FoilBear account inside the app from Profile → Edit Profile → Delete Account. Deletion removes the FoilBear profile, rides, raw ride files, gear, preferences, progression, and other FoilBear-owned records. PepStar sign-in credentials are shared across PepStar apps, so deleting a FoilBear account does not delete that identity or data held by another PepStar service. You may also contact support if the in-app control is unavailable.
Your choices
iOS Settings controls location, motion, notifications, and Apple Health permissions. You may sign out without deleting saved cloud data. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting support.
Children and changes
FoilBear is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the product changes. The effective date above identifies the current version, and material changes will be presented through the app or site.
